Back in the Saddle
It has been a very long time indeed since I was able to devote a whole whack of time to simply crafting. My academic dreams may have fizzled, but my curiousity will never die. There will be time and space to come back to exploring the medieval world I love. But for now, crafting.
My husband and I have changed shores and all my paper crafting supplies stayed behind. My fibre crafts, slightly more transportable and compact, made the migration with me. I have been playing with fiber more and more over the years. Sewing, knitting, and crocheting have always been part and parcel of my life. I cannot, in all honesty, remember not being able to knit. However, I do remember the struggle of teaching myself everything beyond the continental knit stitch my mother taught me so long ago. Ten years ago I added a rigid heddle loom and almost three years ago an electric spinning wheel. Now I have the ability to go from fuzz to finished project. Or so the ambition goes. I have done it a few times now. I hope you would like to join me as I struggle along.
