Check out the new page

You may have noticed the side bar with pages.  So far I have a tutorial on how to use Photoshop elements to create a graphic from which a custom stamp can be created.  Last week in response to a class I gave at Bizzy B's I created a tutorial on how to make a Marie Antoinette riding a Bike card.

This is what the finished product does.  If this doesn't make you smile..........

Give making a mechanical card a shot. Kids love them, but so do the kids who live inside otherwise staid adults.

I Used My Head

It's been awhile, but there are good reasons.  There are always good reasons right?

Well I have been creating in between course work and life.  This time though the challenge was a bit odd and out there.  Seems someone at Bizzy B's managed to nab some Styrofoam mannequin heads.  The idea was for us to decorate them for some purpose.  I am not exactly sure what is intended, but the challenge was fun anyway.

Now, you know that I had to include dolls somehow and indeed I did.  I used my Character Construction stamps including a couple from the new Beekeeper's Tea collection.  I cut the hole in the back of the head with a hole saw to get the nice clean edges.  The back had to be picked out and so was not so nice and clean.  Also, I covered the whole head in tissue with Modge Podge as acrylic paint does not stick to the Styrofoam as is.  Lots of tissue, Modge Podge, acrylic paint, gel medium in gloss and matte later, here she is. The beginning image is sideways, but the Photosynth is right side up.
